Second Tube for the Gotthard Tunnel (CH)
The existing Gotthard road tunnel requires extensive repairs. To ensure that the important road connection remains open during the renovation work, a second tunnel tube is being built. After five years of preparation, the two tunnel boring machines in Göschenen and Airolo have been in operation for the construction of the second tube since February 14, 2025. The project is one of the most important infrastructure projects in the cantons of Ticino and Uri. For the construction site in Göschenen, we supplied a concrete distributor and a lowerable concrete distributor, each with segment doors and a volume of 2.8 m³, as well as a rolling bridge with a span of 7.5 m and an automatic cleaning system.
